 أَنزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاء مَاء فَسَالَتْ أَوْدِيَةٌ بِقَدَرِهَا فَاحْتَمَلَ السَّيْلُ زَبَدًا رَّابِيًا وَمِمَّا يُوقِدُونَ عَلَيْهِ فِي النَّارِ ابْتِغَاء حِلْيَةٍ أَوْ مَتَاعٍ زَبَدٌ مِّثْلُهُ كَذَلِكَ يَضْرِبُ اللّهُ الْحَقَّ وَالْبَاطِلَ فَأَمَّا الزَّبَدُ فَيَذْهَبُ جُفَاء وَأَمَّا مَا يَنفَعُ النَّاسَ فَيَمْكُثُ فِي الأَرْضِ كَذَلِكَ يَضْرِبُ اللّهُ الأَمْثَالَ 13:17

اسي نے آسمان سے مينہ برسايا پھر اس سے اپنے اپنے اندازے کے مطابق نالے بہہ نکلے پھر نالے پر پھولا ہوا جھاگ آگيا. اور جس چيز کو زيور يا کوئي اور سامان بنانے کے ليے آگ ميں تپاتے ہيں اس ميں بھي ايسا ہي جھاگ ہوتا ہے. اس طرح خدا حق اور باطل کي مثال بيان فرماتا ہے. سو جھاگ تو سوکھ کر زائل ہو جاتا ہے. اور (پاني) جو لوگوں کو فائدہ پہنچاتا ہے وہ زمين ميں ٹھہرا رہتا ہے. اس طرح خدا (صحيح اور غلط کي) مثاليں بيان فرماتا ہے (تاکہ تم سمجھو) 13:17

 13:17 [Whenever] He sends down water from the sky, and [once-dry] river-beds are running high according to their measure, the stream carries scum on its surface; and, likewise, from that [metal] which they smelt in the fire in order to make ornaments or utensils, [there rises] scum. In this way does God set forth the parable of truth and falsehood: for, as far as the scum is concerned, it passes away as [does all] dross; but that which is of benefit to man abides on earth. In this way does God set forth the parables13:17

 13:17 He sends down water from the skies, and the channels flow, each according to its measure: But the torrent bears away to foam that mounts up to the surface. Even so, from that (ore) which they heat in the fire, to make ornaments or utensils therewith, there is a scum likewise. Thus doth Allah (by parables) show forth Truth and Vanity. For the scum disappears like froth cast out; while that which is for the good of mankind remains on the earth. Thus doth Allah set forth parables.13:17
