وَلَئِنْ أَتَيْتَ الَّذِينَ أُوْتُواْ الْكِتَابَ بِكُلِّ آيَةٍ مَّا تَبِعُواْ قِبْلَتَكَ وَمَا أَنتَ بِتَابِعٍ قِبْلَتَهُمْ وَمَا بَعْضُهُم بِتَابِعٍ قِبْلَةَ بَعْضٍ وَلَئِنِ اتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَاءهُم مِّن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءكَ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ إِنَّكَ إِذَاً لَّمِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ 2:145 |

اور اگر تم ان اہلِ کتاب کے پاس تمام نشانياں بھي لے کر آؤ، تو بھي يہ تمہارے قبلے کي پيروي نہ کريں. اور تم بھي ان کے قبلے کي پيروي کرنے والے نہيں ہو. اور ان ميں سے بھي بعض بعض کے قبلے کے پيرو نہيں. اور اگر تم باوجود اس کے کہ تمہارے پاس دانش (يعني وحئ خدا) آ چکي ہے، ان کي خواہشوں کے پيچھے چلو گے تو ظالموں ميں (داخل) ہو جاؤ گے2:145

2:145 And yet, even if thou wert to place all evidence before those who have been vouchsafed earlier revelation, they would not follow thy direction of prayer; and neither mayest thou follow their direction of prayer, nor even do they follow one another's direction. And if thou shouldst follow their errant views after all the knowledge that has come unto thee thou wouldst surely be among the evildoers.2:145

2:145 Even if thou wert to bring to the people of the Book all the Signs (together), they would not follow Thy Qibla; nor art thou going to follow their Qibla; nor indeed will they follow each other's Qibla. If thou after the knowledge hath reached thee, Wert to follow their (vain) desires,-then wert thou Indeed (clearly) in the wrong.2:145
