Makkah, First Home of Worship

 وَمِنْ حَيْثُ خَرَجْتَ فَوَلِّ وَجْهَكَ شَطْرَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ وَحَيْثُ مَا كُنتُمْ فَوَلُّواْ وُجُوهَكُمْ شَطْرَهُ لِئَلاَّ يَكُونَ لِلنَّاسِ عَلَيْكُمْ حُجَّةٌ إِلاَّ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ مِنْهُمْ فَلاَ تَخْشَوْهُمْ وَاخْشَوْنِي وَلأُتِمَّ نِعْمَتِي عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ 2:150

اور تم جہاں سے نکلو، مسجدِ محترم کي طرف منہ (کرکے نماز پڑھا) کرو. اور مسلمانو، تم جہاں ہوا کرو، اسي (مسجد) کي طرف رخ کيا کرو. (يہ تاکيد) اس ليے (کي گئي ہے) کہ لوگ تم کو کسي طرح کا الزام نہ دے سکيں. مگر ان ميں سے جو ظالم ہيں، (وہ الزام ديں تو ديں) سو ان سے مت ڈرنا اور مجھي سے ڈرتے رہنا. اور يہ بھي مقصود ہے کہ تم کو اپني تمام نعمتيں بخشوں اور يہ بھي کہ تم راہِ راست پر چلو2:150

 2:150 Hence, from wherever thou mayest come forth, turn thy face [in prayer] towards the Inviolable House of Worship; and wherever you all may be, turn your faces towards it, so that people should have no argument against you unless they are bent upon wrongdoing. And hold not them in awe, but stand in awe of Me, and [obey Me,] so that I might bestow upon you the full measure of My blessings., and that you might follow the right path.2:150

 2:150 So from whencesoever Thou startest forth, turn Thy face in the direction of the sacred Mosque; and wheresoever ye are, Turn your face thither: that there be no ground of dispute against you among the people, except those of them that are bent on wickedness; so fear them not, but fear Me; and that I may complete My favours on you, and ye May (consent to) be guided;2:150
