Order, Killing

 يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْقِصَاصُ فِي الْقَتْلَى الْحُرُّ بِالْحُرِّ وَالْعَبْدُ بِالْعَبْدِ وَالأُنثَى بِالأُنثَى فَمَنْ عُفِيَ لَهُ مِنْ أَخِيهِ شَيْءٌ فَاتِّبَاعٌ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَأَدَاء إِلَيْهِ بِإِحْسَانٍ ذَلِكَ تَخْفِيفٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَرَحْمَةٌ فَمَنِ اعْتَدَى بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَلَهُ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ 2:178

مومنو! تم کو مقتولوں کے بارےميں قصاص (يعني خون کے بدلے خون) کا حکم ديا جاتا ہے (اس طرح پر کہ)آزاد کے بدلے آزاد (مارا جائے) اور غلام کے بدلے غلام اور عورت کے بدلے عورت اور قاتل کو اس کے (مقتول) بھائي (کے قصاص ميں) سے کچھ معاف کرديا جائے تو (وارث مقتول) کو پسنديدہ طريق سے (قرار داد کي) پيروي (يعني مطالبہ? خون بہا) کرنا اور (قاتل کو) خوش خوئي کے ساتھ ادا کرنا چاہيئے يہ پروردگار کي طرف سے تمہارے لئے آساني اور مہرباني ہے جو اس کے بعد زيادتي کرے اس کے لئے دکھ کا عذاب ہے 2:178

 2:178 O YOU who have attained to faith! Just retribution is ordained for you in cases of killing: the free for the free, and the slave for the slave, and the woman for the woman. And if something [of his guilt] is remitted to a guilty person by his brother, this [remission] shall be adhered to with fairness, and restitution to his fellow-man shall be made in a goodly manner. This is an alleviation from your Sustainer, and an act of His grace. And for him who, none the less, wilfully transgresses the bounds of what is right, there is grievous suffering in store:2:178

 2:178 O ye who believe! the law of equality is prescribed to you in cases of murder: the free for the free, the slave for the slave, the woman for the woman. But if any remission is made by the brother of the slain, then grant any reasonable demand, and compensate him with handsome gratitude, this is a concession and a Mercy from your Lord. After this whoever exceeds the limits shall be in grave penalty.2:178
