وَلاَ تَنكِحُواْ الْمُشْرِكَاتِ حَتَّى يُؤْمِنَّ وَلأَمَةٌ مُّؤْمِنَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِّن مُّشْرِكَةٍ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَتْكُمْ وَلاَ تُنكِحُواْ الْمُشِرِكِينَ حَتَّى يُؤْمِنُواْ وَلَعَبْدٌ مُّؤْمِنٌ خَيْرٌ مِّن مُّشْرِكٍ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَكُمْ أُوْلَـئِكَ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى النَّارِ وَاللّهُ يَدْعُوَ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ وَالْمَغْفِرَةِ بِإِذْنِهِ وَيُبَيِّنُ آيَاتِهِ لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ 2:221 |

اور (مومنو) مشرک عورتوں سے جب تک کہ ايمان نہ لائيں نکاح نہ کرنا. کيونکہ مشرک عورت خواہ تم کو کيسي ہي بھلي لگے اس سے مومن لونڈي بہتر ہے. اور (اسي طرح) مشرک مرد جب تک ايمان نہ لائيں مومن عورتوں کو ان کو زوجيت ميں نہ دينا کيونکہ مشرک (مرد) سے خواہ وہ تم کو کيسا ہي بھلا لگے مومن غلام بہتر ہے. يہ (مشرک لوگوں کو) دوزخ کي طرف بلاتے ہيں. اور خدا اپني مہرباني سے بہشت اور بخشش کي طرف بلاتا ہے. اور اپنے حکم لوگوں سے کھول کھول کر بيان کرتا ہے تاکہ نصيحت حاصل کريں 2:221

2:221 AND DO NOT marry women who ascribe divinity to aught beside God ere they attain to [true] belief: for any believing bondwoman [of God] is certainly better than a woman who ascribes divinity to aught beside God, even though she please you greatly. And do not give your women in marriage to men who ascribe divinity to aught beside God ere they attain to [true] belief: for- any believing bondman [of God] is certainly better than a man who ascribes divinity to aught beside God, even though he please you greatly. [Such as] these invite unto the fire, whereas God invites unto paradise, and unto [the achievement of] forgiveness by His leave; and He makes clear His messages unto mankind, so that they might bear them in mind.2:221

2:221 Do not marry unbelieving women (idolaters), until they believe: A slave woman who believes is better than an unbelieving woman, even though she allures you. Nor marry (your girls) to unbelievers until they believe: A man slave who believes is better than an unbeliever, even though he allures you. Unbelievers do (but) beckon you to the Fire. But Allah beckons by His Grace to the Garden (of bliss) and forgiveness, and makes His Signs clear to mankind: That they may celebrate His praise.2:221
