 بَلْ قَالُواْ أَضْغَاثُ أَحْلاَمٍ بَلِ افْتَرَاهُ بَلْ هُوَ شَاعِرٌ فَلْيَأْتِنَا بِآيَةٍ كَمَا أُرْسِلَ الأَوَّلُونَ 21:5

بلکہ (ظالم) کہنے لگے کہ (يہ قرآن) پريشان (باتيں ہيں جو) خواب (ميں ديکھ لي) ہيں. (نہيں) بلکہ اس نے اس کو اپني طرف سے بنا ليا ہے (نہيں) بلکہ (يہ شعر ہے جو اس) شاعر (کا نتيجہ? طبع) ہے. تو جيسے پہلے (پيغمبر نشانياں دے کر) بھيجے گئے تھے (اسي طرح) يہ بھي ہمارے پاس کوئي نشاني لائے21:5

 21:5 “Nay,” they say, “[Muhammad propounds] the most involved and confusing of dreams!” “Nay, but he has invented [all] this!” - “Nay, but he is [only] a poet!” - [and,] “Let him, then, come unto us with a miracle, just as those [prophets] of old were sent [with miracles]?”21:5

 21:5 "Nay," they say, "(these are) medleys of dream! - Nay, He forged it! - Nay, He is (but) a poet! Let him then bring us a Sign like the ones that were sent to (Prophets) of old!"21:5
