Comments, On Mushriks

 وَأَقْسَمُوا بِاللَّهِ جَهْدَ أَيْمَانِهِمْ لَئِن جَاءهُمْ نَذِيرٌ لَّيَكُونُنَّ أَهْدَى مِنْ إِحْدَى الْأُمَمِ فَلَمَّا جَاءهُمْ نَذِيرٌ مَّا زَادَهُمْ إِلَّا نُفُورًا 35:42

اور يہ خدا کي سخت سخت قسميں کھاتے ہيں کہ اگر ان کے پاس کوئي ہدايت کرنے والا آئے تو ہر ايک اُمت سے بڑھ کر ہدايت پر ہوں. مگر جب ان کے پاس ہدايت کرنے والا آيا تو اس سے ان کو نفرت ہي بڑھي 35:42

 35:42 As it is, they [who are averse to the truth often] swear by God with their most solemn oaths that if a warner should ever come to them, they would follow his guidance better than any of the communities [of old had followed the warner sent to them]: but now that a warner has come unto them, [his call] but increases their aversion,35:42

 35:42 They swore their strongest oaths by Allah that if a warner came to them, they would follow his guidance better than any (other) of the Peoples: But when a warner came to them, it has only increased their flight (from righteousness),-35:42
