إِلاَّ الَّذِينَ يَصِلُونَ إِلَىَ قَوْمٍ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُم مِّيثَاقٌ أَوْ جَآؤُوكُمْ حَصِرَتْ صُدُورُهُمْ أَن يُقَاتِلُونَكُمْ أَوْ يُقَاتِلُواْ قَوْمَهُمْ وَلَوْ شَاء اللّهُ لَسَلَّطَهُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ فَلَقَاتَلُوكُمْ فَإِنِ اعْتَزَلُوكُمْ فَلَمْ يُقَاتِلُوكُمْ وَأَلْقَوْاْ إِلَيْكُمُ السَّلَمَ فَمَا جَعَلَ اللّهُ لَكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ سَبِيلاً 4:90 |

مگر جو لوگ ايسے لوگوں سے جا ملے ہوں جن ميں اور تم ميں (صلح کا) عہد ہو يا اس حال ميں کہ ان کے دل تمہارے ساتھ يا اپني قوم کے ساتھ لڑنے سے رک گئے ہوں تمہارے پاس آجائيں (تو احتراز ضروري نہيں) اور اگر خدا چاہتا تو ان کو تم پر غالب کرديتا تو وہ تم سے ضرور لڑتے پھر اگر وہ تم سے (جنگ کرنے سے) کنارہ کشي کريں اور لڑيں نہيں اور تمہاري طرف صلح (کا پيغام) بھيجيں تو خدا نے تمہارے لئے ان پر (زبردستي کرنے کي) کوئي سبيل مقرر نہيں کي 4:90

4:90 unless it be such [of them] as have ties with people to whom you yourselves are bound by a covenant, or such as come unto you because their hearts shrink from [the thought of] making war either on you or on their own folk - although, if God had willed to make them stronger than you, they would certainly have made war on you. Thus, if they let you be, and do not make war on you, and offer you peace, God does not allow you to harm them. 4:90

4:90 Except those who join a group between whom and you there is a treaty (of peace), or those who approach you with hearts restraining them from fighting you as well as fighting their own people. If Allah had pleased, He could have given them power over you, and they would have fought you: Therefore if they withdraw from you but fight you not, and (instead) send you (Guarantees of) peace, then Allah Hath opened no way for you (to war against them).4:90
