وَإِذْ قَالَ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ إِنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِلَيْكُم مُّصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ مِنَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَمُبَشِّرًا بِرَسُولٍ يَأْتِي مِن بَعْدِي اسْمُهُ أَحْمَدُ فَلَمَّا جَاءهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ قَالُوا هَذَا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ 61:6 |

اور (وہ وقت بھي ياد کرو) جب مريم? کے بيٹے عيسي? نے کہا کے اے بني اسرائيل ميں تمہارے پاس خدا کا بھيجا ہوا آيا ہوں (اور) جو (کتاب) مجھ سے پہلے آچکي ہے (يعني) تورات اس کي تصديق کرتا ہوں اور ايک پيغمبر جو ميرے بعد آئيں گے جن کا نام احمد? ہوگا ان کي بشارت سناتا ہوں. (پھر) جب وہ ان لوگوں کے پاس کھلي نشانياں لے کر آئے تو کہنے لگے کہ يہ تو صريح جادو ہے61:6

61:6 And [this happened, too,] when Jesus, the son of Mary, said: "O children of Israel! Behold, I am an apostle of God unto you, [sent] to confirm the truth of whatever there still remains of the Torah, and to give [you] the glad tiding of an apostle who shall come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad." But when he [whose coming Jesus had foretold] came unto them with all evidence of the truth, they said: "This [alleged message of his] is [nothing but] spellbinding eloquence!" 61:6

61:6 And remember, Jesus, the son of Mary, said: "O Children of Israel! I am the apostle of Allah (sent) to you, confirming the Law (which came) before me, and giving Glad Tidings of an Messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad." But when he came to them with Clear Signs, they said, "this is evident sorcery!"61:6
