Battles between Muslims and Mushriks

 وَإِذْ زَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ وَقَالَ لاَ غَالِبَ لَكُمُ الْيَوْمَ مِنَ النَّاسِ وَإِنِّي جَارٌ لَّكُمْ فَلَمَّا تَرَاءتِ الْفِئَتَانِ نَكَصَ عَلَى عَقِبَيْهِ وَقَالَ إِنِّي بَرِيءٌ مِّنكُمْ إِنِّي أَرَى مَا لاَ تَرَوْنَ إِنِّيَ أَخَافُ اللّهَ وَاللّهُ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ 8:48

اور جب شيطانوں نے ان کے اعمال ان کو آراستہ کر کے دکھائے اور کہا کہ آج کے دن لوگوں ميں کوئي تم پر غالب نہ ہوگا اور ميں تمہارا رفيق ہوں (ليکن) جب دونوں فوجيں ايک دوسرے کے مقابل صف آراء ہوئيں تو پسپا ہو کر چل ديا اور کہنے لگا کہ مجھے تم سے کوئي واسطہ نہيں. ميں تو ايسي چيزيں ديکھ رہا ہوں جو تم نہيں ديکھ سکتے. مجھے تو خدا سے ڈر لگتا ہے. اور خدا سخت عذاب کرنے والا ہے 8:48

 8:48 And, lo, Satan made all their doings seem goodly to them, and said, "No one can overcome you this day, for, behold, I shall be your protector !" but as soon as the two hosts came within sight of one another, he turned on his heels and said, "Behold, I am not responsible for you: behold, I see something that you do not see: behold, I fear God-for God is severe in retribution !" 8:48

 8:48 Remember Satan made their (sinful) acts seem alluring to them, and said: "No one among men can overcome you this day, while I am near to you": But when the two forces came in sight of each other, he turned on his heels, and said: "Lo! I am clear of you; lo! I see what ye see not; Lo! I fear Allah. for Allah is strict in punishment."8:48
